Constantia encompasses the beautiful Constantia Valley and Constantiaberg mountain. Established in 1684, it is one of the oldest suburbs of Cape Town and famous for wine estates such as Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia and Constantia Uitsig. Constantia is an affluent suburb and recent residents have included Mark Thatcher and Charles Spencer. Property prices remain bouyant in this area and a wide variety of quality property is available. Although stock is mostly large and beautiful villas, there are also family homes, townhouse and security villages. The area is close to some of South Africa's finest private and government schools, as well as a number of private and government hospitals.
