Tokai is just 30 minutes from central Cape Town and one of the Southern Suburbs' greenest areas. Its neighbours are the Tokai forest, the Constantiaberg Mountains and the Uitsig Wine farms. The Tokai forest plantations, initiated by Simon van der Stel in 1694, are a favourite haunt of locals with dogs or mountain bikes and there are a number of rivers attracting squirrels, guinea fowl and birds to the area.
